Psychedelic trance culture is an international global community. Goa Trance is the subgenre of trance music.  Goa trance rooted from Western hippies attending Full Moon parties on the beaches of Goa, India: extrapolated from the 1960s and 19070s with the intention of exploring counterculture and free minded spirits. Travellers and people from around the world would seek far and wide, looking for this alternative ways of life, discovering themselves through their exploration of this hypnotic sound of electronic music. Many parties arise from around the world from small parties to major international events such as Portugal's Boom Festival and Hungary's Ozora Festival. 

Psychedelic trance music became the collective term used to describe a crowded family of genres, and a specific one, characterized by energetic rhythm that ranges between 120 to 200 bpm, to paint a story line of a mind journey that ascends consciousness as one whole on the dance floor. Diversification derived from different speeds, types of sounds and emotional messages lead to the creation of many sub genres to weave together a mind space journey; styles such as progressive, dark progressive, full on, forest psy, dark psy, and hi tech. 

The usual atmosphere you may experience at a psytrance event would be themes associated with aliens, spirituality, mushrooms, shamanism and technology. As psytrance culture has been known to have integration of anthropology, sociology, nature, spirituality, music, shamanism, and technology to summarize that "we are all one". As a global tribe on the dance floor, one of the things people are looking forward to is experiencing the expansion of consciousness through connection with each other, with nature and through the vibration of the musical journey as "one".
